3 out of 5 stars Good but not great...   December 14, 2009
Lisa Partee (Florida)
I borrowed a copy from someone that has the CD and enjoyed it but not enough to have it in my personal music library.I really enjoy David's voice and will definitely check out an future projects that he comes out with.

2 out of 5 stars Where do I begin?   December 8, 2009

I really should have know that I wasn't going to like this much, but I mean, based off the strength of the first single `Crush', which I actually really like (I know, I'm so ashamed) I really had reason to believe that this could go the way of recent Jesse McCartney and be something worth my time. Sadly, outside of `Crush', there are a handful of decent tracks, a slew of mediocrity and even a few outright horrible songs here.

I still cannot believe I am reviewing this (in my defense, I totally got this on wicked sale).

Ok, so `Crush' is just a lot of fun, and David's vocals are truly stellar (the boy can sing, regardless of his poor taste in material). I didn't watch this particular season of American Idol, but you couldn't help but hear this song blow up the radio stations (much more friendly than anything I've heard from the winning David).

For me, `A Little Too Not Over You', `You Can', `Desperate' and `You Eyes Don't Lie' fall in that next tier. They are not bad but they are not great. They sound less generic than the rest of the album, and David's voice is good on all fronts and each has likeability to them. `You Can' is a sweet and soft song, and the acoustic musical arrangement works very well and actually sets the song apart a bit. It may be the best track on the album outside of `Crush' (it's a better song than `Crush' to be honest; it's just not as fun or catchy).

And what in the world is it with tweens singing about falling in love?

Eh, that's for another discussion.

The next group is `Touch My Hand', `Barriers', `My Hands' and `Don't Let Go'. All are mediocre and very familiar generic pop songs. They have a respectable (or not very respectable depending on how you look at it) catchiness to them, but the fact remains that they are bottom of the barrel pop tracks that any other one-hit-wonder could have thrown in their album. There is absolutely nothing special about these tracks.

But even they are not as bad as what comes next.

`Running', `To Be With You', `Don't Let Go' and `Angels' are just plain awful contributions to this album (his take on `Angels' is just stomach-turning horrible). His voice sounds off on these (for the most part), the tracks are boring and unflattering to him as an artist (they feel out of his range and too mature in parts). They just throw the whole thing off. It's like a little boy trying to be Josh Groban, and that just doesn't work; AT ALL.

One reviewer said to listen to his skill and then the songs. I'm not refuting his skill at all, but someone's skill is not the reason to boast their album filled with bad songs. That's like saying "Russell Crowe is an amazing actor with great `skill' so we should give `The Quick and the Dead' five stars even though the movie is bad". This album gets a D from me. Skill wise I'd give young Archuleta a Bish grade. He has a voice (he still needs to hone it a bit) and there is no denying that, but his skill is wasted on this forgettable collection of mediocrity.

5 out of 5 stars BEST CD EVER!!!!   December 8, 2009
DesperateBoy (Newnan, GA)
This cd is honestly my favorite cd! I didnt know what to expect from the season seven Idol. But he definitely delivers. He know exactly who he is, and thats sooo refreshing. The album is the definition of pop, and the music is amazing. Its a refreshing change from the crap music of today. His voice is perfection! Each note is filled with so much passion and fullness! Its extraordinary! HES extraordinary! This album is just full of what I believe music is missing today! Substance, and a vocalist who knows who he is.

4 out of 5 stars It's worth your money...   November 17, 2009
Steven Mitchell (Morgantown, WV USA)
I bought this CD as soon as it came out. I really enjoyed just about every song on the list. "Works For Me" and "Your Eyes Don't Lie" are probably my favorite songs on the album.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing   October 23, 2009
Ashley Lewis (Connecticut)
This album really gives a wide range of songs that portray different parts of a couples relationship whether it be that they don't know each other yet but know they are out there somewhere or if it be that they just broke up and one if having sad feelings towards that decision. It just is able to relate to anyone from the single to the married who can relate the songs to their struggles and good times they have gone through. This album shows David's great potential and after this it only gets better, even though that is hard to believe since he is already so amazing and graceful at singing being able to reach everyone note even though he went through tough times with his voice in his early teen years. He has shown great progress and is a great role model to people or all ages.
